Sherlock Holmes

London calling

To help Warner Bros. give consumers a sneak peek of their new film, Sherlock Holmes, we reproduced 19th-century London at one of the country’s premier lifestyle shopping centers. With foggy cobblestone streets, flickering gas-lit lamp posts and the famous Baker Street the display featured a 20-foot-tall replica of Big Ben complete with its signature ringing bells. Video kiosks hidden in decorative barrels and crates screened film trailers and a behind-the-scenes “Making of Sherlock Holmes” featurette. With more than 60 million shoppers experiencing it, the themed environment generated huge awareness and helped send the film to a single-day record opening of $24.9 M. The display won the Silver OBIE award honoring the best creative work in out of home advertising.
