NEXT STOP: SUCCESS. SANDVIK COROMANT AT EMO HANNOVER.

As the world witnesses a second industrial revolution with the advent of new industrial superpowers, and development of metal technologies moving at ground breaking pace, SANDVIK Coromant leads the charge in the metalworking industry. With a whole host of technological advances to shout about, SANDVIK Coromant needed a stage that went above and beyond.

BACKGROUND

Having worked with SANDVIK Coromant since 2011, our task for EMO Hannover was to build a stand using our concept for the International Manufacturing Technology Show (based in the USA) the previous year as a foundation. SANDVIK Coromant wanted to continue to work with their “What will you discover” theme to establish their position as the market leader. The stand needed to create a buzz at the show by entertaining their visitors and highlighting their newest and latest innovations in a way that was befitting to their work.

THE SOLUTION

We took our inspiration for the reworked stand from the world of futuristic technological development to match the ground breaking work that SANDVIK Coromant pride themselves on.

Using the “What will you discover” concept, we wanted to take visitors on a journey where they could discover all of the latest news and developments from SANDVIK Coromant. To achieve this we came up with a “Discovery line” based on the innovative London Underground map; one of the most widely used examples of innovation in the world. With important stops on the stand clearly indicated - including a news wall, a theatre and product development pedestals - visitors could enjoy a self-guided tour where they could engage with the stand itself and answer the call of “What will you discover?” for themselves.

To further illustrate SANDVIK Coromant’s innovation we added a unique twist to the stand, quite literally. SANDVIK Coromant’s concept branding shows a bright yellow square turned on its side so we incorporated that aspect into the entire design; rotating the stand through a 7o angle so that visitors were greeted with an unusual and eye catching stand as they approached. To complement this new look, we added huge LCD video walls to the ceiling mounted curtain of the stand which displayed corporate videos and countdowns to announcements. 

THE RESULTS

  • Sandvik was pleased with the stand concept and results
  • The stand created a buzz amongst visitors
  • Sandvik is planning new projects with GES as a result
