Calgary – October 27, 2009 – Worldskills 2009 was held at Stampede Park this September bringing approximately 900 competitors and thousands of delegates from around the world together to compete and showcase their talents and abilities from trades, service and technical programs. This biennial event is known for promoting excellence and global competency for industry standards in areas such as robotics to web design, and cooking to landscape gardening.
Excellent organization, coordination and team work were present during the 5 week move-in of this 400,000 square foot indoor event plus an additional 320,000 square feet under enormous tents. Because of this huge undertaking, GES – Calgary needed to use all of the resources available throughout the company, and in true ''One Team'' fashion, several members of our Banff, Red Deer, Edmonton and Montreal offices descended on Calgary to assist with the set-up and dismantle of this once in a lifetime event.
Some examples of the scope of work included:
- 6000m of GEM
