Informa set out to launch a brand-new show floor activation at SPACE 2026 that would do more than display information. The goal was to create a central destination that could spotlight innovation, host the Space Tech Challenge Awards, and drive meaningful attendee engagement. The experience also needed to be flexible and scalable for use over multiple years.
To bring that vision to life, GES designed and built the STAR Activation (Space Technology Accelerator Ring), a dynamic environment that combines technology, content, networking, and live programming in one highly visible space.
At the center of the activation, illuminated digital kiosks showcased innovations across the space industry while highlighting finalists in the Space Tech Challenge. The interactive format encouraged attendees to engage with new ideas and discover the technologies driving the industry forward.
Designed with flexibility in mind, STAR also served as a comfortable networking hub, giving attendees a place to gather, connect, and recharge between sessions. Throughout the event, the space transitioned seamlessly into a presentation venue where Space Tech Challenge finalists shared their innovations before winners were recognized during the awards program.
GES created the design and managed the fabrication, graphic production, and installation of the activation, delivering a sleek, futuristic environment that reflected the spirit of innovation at the heart of the event.
The result was a destination that drew attendees throughout the show, elevated the visibility of emerging technologies, and gave the Space Tech Challenge a fitting stage to inspire, engage, and connect with the space community.
Results:
Created a high-profile destination that attracted attendees throughout the event
Increased visibility for Space Tech Challenge finalists and industry innovations
Supported networking, learning, and engagement in a single environment
Provided an impactful stage for live presentations and award recognition
Delivered a scalable activation designed to support future growth
