New enhancements for Contactless Registration

For several months, we have been working hand in hand with clients around the world to ensure we are ready to deliver events safely when we got the green light. Our secure contactless technology has been widely praised by industry-leading organisers, making us an ideal choice to be the technology provider when shows begin to reopen.

In designing Visit’s Contactless Registration new features,  our responsibility was clear: provide a contactless registration experience in line with the All Secure Standard and local government guidelines. In addition, deliver exhibitors with the tools to share content with attendees digitally.

Our new  framework for our contactless welcome experience and digital content technology:

Online Registration

  • Health and safety-focused joining instructions
  • Full contact details recorded in compliance with government track and trace requirements
  • Self-isolation requirement warnings for registrants that could potentially be subject to local lockdown restrictions, or were exceptions from the UK travel corridor
  • New time slot capacity management to support staggered entry times
  • Capacity-controlled seminar bookings
  • Acknowledgment of safety measures and obligations as an attendee
  • Verification of all non-approved registrants

Onsite Delivery

  • New contactless onsite registration via QR codes
  • A first-to-market GES Visitor Portal; allowing visitors to access their digital badge on their mobile device, as well as capture digital content from QR codes on the show floor
  • Real-time access control on entry and exit throughout the event
  • Real-time venue and area capacity monitors
  • First-to-market camera counting technology to further support venue and area capacity limitations

To further support our contactless delivery, we created a new feature: an SMS opening morning to log attendees directly into their visitor portal at the click of a button, making access to their digital badge - and the ability to instantly collect digital content - quick and painless.

As part of our expanded offering,  our onsite registration team will be instructed to avoid printing physical badges unless absolutely necessary. As part of our COVID-ready system advancements, we provided registration staff with the ability to resend confirmation emails and text messages to attendees who were unable to locate the original copies.  In the future, around the event, signage further supported the contactless approach, utilising our QR content technology to distribute event information and schedules, such as floorplans and seminar agendas.

Our secure contactless technology has been widely praised by industry-leading organisers and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport therefore making us an ideal choice to be the technology provider when shows begin to reopen.

See how we helped keep All Secure 2020 safe and contactless.
