The Farnborough International Airshow is one of the world’s most anticipated biennial events, with more than 80,000 visitors expected to attend from 96 different countries.

Farnborough International AirshowWith a new look flying display, as well as demonstrations from leading aerospace companies and interactive exhibits, there will be something for everyone.

We’ve been working on the show for over 20 years now, so we know a thing or two about navigating the event. From the best places to stay for your trip, to what you should expect when you get there, we’ve put together a handy guide to help you navigate the Airshow with ease.

How to get to Farnborough International Airshow

Before we can start thinking about all the fun to be had at the show, let’s talk about how to get there first. Whether you’re flying in from abroad, or you’re travelling from a few miles down the road, we’ve got you covered.

By rail:By Rail: Aldershot Train Station

The show is close to several national rail stations all within 35 minutes of London, including Farnborough Main, Farnborough North and Aldershot. To make things even easier, there’s a free shuttle bus from each of these train stations to transport you directly to the site, running 7am-7pm each day of the air show. (image source)

By car:

Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre is located just off the A325, accessible from the M3 (J4) and A31. The venue isn’t always recognised by SatNavs, so attendees are encouraged to use the postcode GU14 6AZ, and then follow the signs to the relevant car parks.

Our advice would be to head there as early as you can, the first few days are particularly busy on the roads. There’s plenty of parking, but the later you arrive, the further away you’ll be. That may not sound like a big deal, but after a whole day of walking around, your feet will thank you for that early alarm!

By air:

If you’re flying into TAG Farnborough airport, you will be efficiently transferred to the door of the event without even leaving the airport boundary. London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports are other convenient options, both within an hour’s drive from Farnborough.

Where to stay (and when to book!)

The Farnborough International Airshow is popular across the globe, with guests attending from nearly 100 different countries. This means that a lot of people are in need of a bed for the night, so it’s a good idea to book your accommodation early. We recommend confirming your bookings by October.
