We are still fresh from the National Exhibitor Masterclass, brought to you by FaceTime UK, which was held yesterday at the NEC. We had a great time meeting everyone who attended, passing on our knowledge and expertise to help exhibitors get the most out of their next event.
We received a great response, so a big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand with their exhibiting questions. Today, I've taken some of your questions and answered them.
It can be show dependent, but I think most people who have the choice will go with the app. It feels more convenient to most users, and often links into cloud-based software, which enables you to capture and manage leads live. ‘Visit Connect’ is a great example.
Think like a visitor. What would you expect if you were approached? What would make you turn and run?
Make sure your staff are motivated, properly trained, get realistic breaks and are able to handle likely enquiries without looking baffled.
Get them to smile and not play Candy Crush on the stand!
Yes, to meet regulations, a testing charge is required, and should be included within the electrical cost you are given.
Absolutely. Full colour carpet printing is now widely available and is really quite affordable. The resolution of the imagery printed is also pretty amazing.
Gamification is one of the big themes now. People love prizes, and everybody loves to win – so it’s important to give them a chance to do so. I think as a general rule, if the prize is good and relevant to the market, and the messaging is clear and people don’t feel too ‘trapped’ when entering, then it should work.
Yes possibly, but by definition anything that’s ‘interactive’ might mean that subsequent changes could get lost in translation. I think it’s a logical step forward though. Patent it, quick!
Definitely with an app that lets you capture and manage the lead data in real time. Visit gives you the opportunity to set up key questions before the event and qualify your lead right there on the stand, without the hassle of manually inputting business cards, etc. to a spreadsheet the next day.
However you capture your leads – they are gold dust. The event is your opportunity; but the leads are your reward.
