Paris, May 31, 2018 – Based on the groundbreaking HBO® series, GAME OF THRONES: THE TOURING EXHIBITION will give fans the experience of a lifetime with an up-close and personal look into the world of Westeros and Essos.
To celebrate the opening, GAME OF THRONES show talent, Carice Van Houten (Melisandre), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark), Ian Beattie (Meryn Trant) and costume designer Michele Clapton will attend the VIP preview and share recollections about the breathtaking costumes and amazing props featured in the collection.
The new 2,000-square-meter interactive experience, inspired by the hit HBO series, is filled with breathtaking images and enthralling artifacts to give Game of Thrones fans an up-close and personal look at authentic props, costumes and set decorations from the groundbreaking show. GAME OF THRONES: THE TOURING EXHIBITION will allow fans worldwide to experience the craftsmanship and artistry of the GAME OF THRONES production up close in the largest public display to date. Featuring a unique mix of immersive environments, interactives, and multimedia content, visitors will experience the lands of Westeros and Essos and relive the trials and tribulations of the series’ nobles and common folk alike who struggle for survival in the shadow of the Iron Throne.
Several dynamically themed exhibition areas based on series settings will feature displays of costumes, props, weapons and armor in an immersive way:
- The wintry landscapes of the North, the tree-lined pathway of the Kingsroad, and the regal settings of King’s Landing.
- The conquered city of Meereen with its garrisons of Unsullied warriors and the loyalists of House Targaryen.
- Iconic settings like the House of Black and White, the home of the Night’s Watch: Castle Black; and the frozen lands Beyond the Wall.
- The show-stopping centerpiece of the iconic Iron Throne Room, where visitors can gaze upon the Westerosi seat of power in all its foreboding glory.

SETTING 1 | PRE-SHOW
Visitors begin their experience with a brief Pre-Show which quickly draws them into the world of GAME OF THRONES, with a montage of dramatic scenes from the show, culminating with the reveal of the Winter Forest, the formal start of the exhibition.
SETTING 2 | MAP TABLE
Maps and map markers used by nobles to plot strategy and war will remind visitors of the competing Noble Houses and the machinations that have unfolded over the course of the story so far.
SETTING 3 | THE KINGSROAD
Spanning the length of Westeros, from the castle at Storm’s End, through King’s Landing, to the land beyond the Wall, the Kingsroad is the longest road in Westeros. It is on the Kingsroad where life-changing moments often occur, changing the fortunes and futures of nobles and common folk alike.

- Costumes worn by Arya Stark and Sandor “The Hound” Clegane.
- Needle, Arya Stark’s sword.
SETTING 4 | KING’S LANDING
The capital and largest city in Westeros, King’s Landingis home to the Iron Throne and to the royal house that rules the Seven Kingdoms. Featuring set decorations, props, and costumes from Joffrey Baratheon’s fateful wedding to Margaery Tyrell, this chamber showcases one of the most iconic events in GAME OF THRONES history.
- The wedding gown of Margaery Tyrell and the opulent wedding attire worn by Joffrey Baratheon.
- Widow’s Wail, Joffrey Baratheon’s valyrian steel sword.
- Litter used to carry Joffrey Baratheon around King’s Landing.
SETTING 5 | THE NOBLE HOUSES OF WESTEROS
Visitors can further explore the noble houses of Westeros, with a multitude of props, costumes, and weapons used by House Bolton, House Baratheon, House Greyjoy, and House Martell.
- Highlights include:
- Costumes worn by Stannis Baratheon and the red priestess Melisandre.
- The luxurious silk costume worn by Ellaria Sand and the leather armor worn by Oberyn Martell.
- Shireen Baratheon’s toy stag, carved for her by Ser Davos.
SETTING 6 | TARGARYEN CHAMBER
Visitors will be lured by the giant skull of an ancient dragon into Essos, where the Mother of Dragons and her attendants and armies are showcased. From Dothraki and Westerosi weapons to beautifully forged jewelry, this area tells the story of Danaerys Targaryen’s struggle to return to Westeros to reclaim the Iron Throne.

- Costumes worn by Daenerys Targaryen and Missandei.
- Armor worn by the Unsullied warriors who serve Daenerys Targaryen.
- Dragon eggs given as a wedding gift to Daenerys Targaryen.
- Khal Drogo’s Arakh.
SETTING 7 | THE HOUSE OF BLACK AND WHITE
Valar Morghulis -- All men must die. Here, in the House of Black and White, the temple to the Many-Faced God, visitors will find themselves in the Hall of Faces, lined with the preserved faces of the deceased, ready to be worn by the Faceless Men.

- Costumes worn by Arya Stark and Jaqen H’ghar.
- A unique photo opportunity which allows visitors to add their face to the countless others preserved in the Hall of Faces.
SETTING 8 | THE WALL / CASTLE BLACK
The ancient stronghold of the Night’s Watch, Castle Black is where the Brothers keep their unending vigil over the Wall and the lands beyond. Visitors move through the Castle Black area, through a gate and tunnel, to travel beyond the wall.

- Another photo interactive that captures visitors scaling the ice wall.
SETTING 9 | BEYOND THE WALL
North of the wall lies a frozen land shrouded in mystery. It is the realm of the free folk, called “wildlings” by those south of the Wall. The far north is also home to creatures of myth and legend: giants, the Children of the Forest and the White Walkers. Winter is here.

SETTING 10 | THE THRONE ROOM
In the Red Keep of King’s Landing lies the center of the Seven Kingdoms – the great hall and throne room. It is the home of the Iron Throne, forged with dragonfire from the swords of Aegon the Conqueror’s enemies to become a coveted seat atop which Westerosi of high birth and low vie for a chance to sit... and rule.

- The structured leather dress worn by Cersei Lannister when she took the throne.
- Highly embellished costume armor worn by Joffrey Baratheon during the Battle of the Blackwater.
- An exact replica of the Iron Throne, the seat of power in the Seven Kingdoms.
