November 11, 2016 - GES, a global full-service provider for live events, is building on its commitment to sustainability with a partnership on a major new research project.
The company is an official research partner for the Sustainable Events Summit (SES), a gathering of industry-leading corporate event organisers, brands, venues and suppliers, designed to promote the exchange of innovative ideas in sustainability.
The research is the first of its kind in the sector, surveying 100 event professionals at top global brands to gain greater insight into how sustainability informs both the planning and delivery of live events. The research will be unveiled at the Sustainable Events Summit on Monday 21 November in central London.
The activity extends GES’ long track record on sustainability. It was the first official services provider to achieve the internationally recognised ISO20121 accreditation and has recently appointed Tom Revell MSc, as its first sustainability manager to drive best practice business wide.
Christine Martin, GES’ EMEA marketing director, said: “We take our responsibility to sustainability seriously and welcome this opportunity to stimulate debate and discussion across the event community. The industry has come a long way but there’s more to do. I’m confident this evidence based approach will help us raise the bar further. ”
One of the Summit’s founding partners, Rick Stainton, md of Smyle added: “We are absolutely delighted that GES is supporting the Summit again this year and we would like to thank them for their commitment. We are excited about the new research-led direction for SES and are looking forward to unveiling our findings at the Summit.”
