Rain Room at MoMA

March 9, 2017

Rain Room is an installation featuring a 100 square meter area of falling rain that uses 3D tracking cameras to sense a person’s presence, allowing visitors to walk through the rain without getting wet. rAndom International created the concept and design but turned to us for the install and fabrication at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City.  The logistical complexity of creating a temporary structure with enough support and plumbing abilities, while adhering to codes and regulations, was a challenge. However, bringing rAndom International’s vision to life in the MoMA Rain Room resulted in a hugely successful exhibit for the MoMA, with lines continuously being hours long.
