When Kevin Small, GES Director of Client Services, joined the newly formed Exhibition Services & Contractors Association (ESCA) Rising Leaders Committee, he had no idea it would turn into an unforgettable professional turning point. But that's what happened when Small was named Primary Committee Chair.
"Serving as Chair of the Rising Leaders Committee is an incredibly meaningful opportunity for me," shares Small. "This committee is dedicated to giving talented newcomers a way to actively contribute to shaping the future of our industry."
The Rising Leaders Committee welcomes professionals under 40 or those in the first ten years of their careers. It offers them a dedicated platform to develop the skills and network needed to build distinguished, long-term careers.
According to Small, the committee will initially focus on boosting ESCA membership to help shape the association's future and live events. "This is a huge market segment, but the industry is small and interconnected. We have welcomed many new faces post-COVID, and we must give them the tools and network to thrive."
In addition to getting out and working with emerging professionals, Small will serve as a non-voting member of the ESCA Board of Directors — ensuring that rising leaders' voices are represented in the decision-making process.
Small adds, "This is a new segment for ESCA, and I'm proud to be part of figuring out how we grow it. Helping to shape our industry's future while representing GES is a career highlight."
