Sustainability Becomes Transparent and Measurable

Brands are moving beyond abstract sustainability concepts to implement structured, measurable practices. This includes digital dashboards for transparent impact reporting, adopting eco-conscious materials, and enhancing local community impact through local sourcing and facilitating donations with local charities.

IMEX America is an industry leader in sustainability with innovative strategies such as the People & Planet Pledges for attendees and exhibitors, measurable practices, and an annual Sustainable Event Report. They are working with a sustainable Event Management Agency, MeetGreen, to navigate the ever-changing landscape and meet targeted business results. 

At the TrueValue Spring Reunion, over 500 exhibitors generously donated 25 truckloads of building and hardware supplies to New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, resulting in over $75,000 in sales at Habitat ReStores, independently owned reuse stores operated by local Habitat for Humanity organizations. Approximately 200,000 pounds of materials were diverted from local landfills by this collaborative effort. 

Deep Audience Understanding Drives Personalization

At PCMA Convening Leaders 2024, Kimberly Hardcastle Geddes offered 20 real-world examples of personalization. Some of her suggestions included:

• Instead of a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, she suggested cutting products or food items representing the industry.
• Finding ways to humanize your brand by asking your staff to dress in show colors and gather at the main entrance each morning to welcome and thank people for attending.
•  Creating a themed lounge where attendees can network or experience an education session.
