Pamela-Louise Shuffler joined GES as an Account Associate, drawn to the company’s commitment to investing in its employees. She wanted a structured training program that emphasized growth and hands-on learning, and GES provided exactly that.
One of Pamela’s favorite aspects of the program has been the sheer variety of experiences it offers. From attending diverse events to exploring different industries, she’s enjoyed discovering the wide-ranging world of trade shows. The program has shown her that there truly is a trade show for everything, making each new event exciting and unique.
Her advice to future associates? Be curious, ask questions, and take notes. Pamela believes that showing a willingness to learn will encourage mentors to invest in teaching and guiding new associates.
The program also broadened her understanding of the behind-the-scenes effort that goes into producing events. Before joining GES, she had no idea how much planning, coordination, and time were required to bring a show to life. Now, she has a deep appreciation for the work that happens behind the scenes to create seamless experiences.
One of her most memorable experiences was at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, an outdoor aviation trade show. While assisting with exhibitor booth checks and furniture deliveries, she enjoyed the unique setting, working with her team, and even playing music while driving around the show site. The experience gave her valuable insight into event operations while making for a fun and unforgettable day.
Pamela encourages future associates to find something valuable in every show—no matter how small—because every event is an opportunity to learn. She looks forward to continuing her journey at GES and expanding her knowledge in the ever-evolving events industry.
