PCMA Convening Leaders 2024
PCMA Convening Leaders 2024 took place at the San Diego Convention Center. The event brought together 5,000 industry professionals in person and online for education, networking, and memorable programming.
SeaWorld San Diego and the San Diego Tourism Authority hosted the opening night reception. Attendees enjoyed great food and drinks while adventuring around the park that was still glowing with holiday displays and lights. The event also allowed attendees to get up-close with orcas, ride roller coasters, and meet many of the animals SeaWorld cares for in their rescue program. The reception concluded with a grand fireworks display.
The main stage featured President Bill Clinton and 67th Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in a fireside chat about the challenges society faces in 2024, leadership, and making impactful decisions. The District featured companies displaying their products and services as well as offering unique activations and lounge areas. There were four themed areas in the space, providing an easy-to-navigate, immersive attendee marketplace.
PCMA, GES, and onPeak teamed up for Hospitality Helping Hands to work alongside students and families from Perkins Elementary School to refresh, restore, and revitalize the common areas used daily, including the playground, cafeteria, and school garden. From building “buddy benches” to creating additional games for recess to painting inspirational murals to weeding and replanting their teaching garden, the project resonated with everyone. Annually, GES and onPeak sponsor Hospitality Helping Hands, an opportunity for participants to further commit to PCMA’s mission to drive social impact and transformation in host cities.
Party with a Purpose was held at Nova San Diego and featured a night of live entertainment, dancing, and connecting with industry professionals. Presented by GES and onPeak, the event supported the PCMA Foundation, who’s mission is to support the mission of PCMA through fundraising and grant-giving, focused on scholarships, education, and research that will advance the global business events industry. Overall, Convening Leaders 2024 raised more than $400,000 for the PCMA Foundation.
